A fair drive off I 95 but once you get here, it's worth it. Little to no road noise, lots of trees, good hiking trails for dogs and a little fenced dog park. A creek runs through it, which feeds a fishing pond. Swimming pool, laundry and washrooms, and a well equipped store. Friendly owners well versed on local history. Close to several historic sights. Bring groceries as shopping and restaurants are a bit of a drive. A peaceful place for a longer visit.

This is a nice park. However, they made us pay for a full price site just to park my truck. The park was maybe half full. The reason was, they do not have overflow parking. Seriously. We have been a Double KOA member for many years. We seek out KOA. I have never been charged $50 to park a vehicle. I come to Fredericksburg twice a year and have spent quite a few nights at this park. They could have treated us just a little better.

I really like this place. We've stayed at this place several times when there are events at Quantico and I can't see spending twice or even three times a much on a hotel. We only stay in the little cabins with no bathroom and they are great. We stayed in the Deluxe cabin once with family and it was very nice. Since the last time we were here they made an important upgrade that I have to mention. The Kamping Kabin usually consisted of a full sized bed and bunk beds. No fridge, no microwave, and no TV. They have since added all three to at least the cabin we had and took out the bunk beds in favor of a futon with a big ole thick comfy mattress. I think all of these changes are the kind of modifications that younger groups are looking for. If you dont have kids, the bunk beds were just storage racks. Now, my wife and I have a place to sit or if we are sharing the cabin with friends or family, they dont have to sleep separately on the bunk beds. Also, importantly, it looks like all the KOA's that we've stayed at recently have all got rid of those awful blue rubbery plastic mattresses and replaced them with thicker, much more comfortable, fake leathery suede looking mattresses. They are the most significant improvement to the cabin. Lastly, dont forget your own linens and shower flip flops!

This was a very nice campground. Plenty of room between sites. Will definitely visit again.

Didnt stay here. I called for a site at 7:30 pm..then found out our friends werent going to make it. I tried calling at 9:30pm to see if I could cancel and there was no answer..not even a answering machine..So called at 8am the next morning and asked of I could cancel without a charge. Nope..they charged me 62.00..lesson learned..dont call ahead and reserve..especially on a weekday
