This large park makes for a nice walking or running option a bit removed from downtown. There are three main loops that can be combined for longer paths, making it a great option for runners since there isn't traffic. The ponds and trees keep the area fairly cool, though you do have to watch out for alligators periodically. It's not the most visited park in the city, but since it's a bit removed, it doesn't feel crowded and makes for a nice secluded option away from others.

Always great, year round! There are SO many fun things to do here! The Outdoor Zone includes a giant climbing wall, a challenge course, a zip line, and a belay wall. There is campground sites available as well as cottages to rent overlooking salt marsh beds that are fun to explore. There is a giant playground, picnic areas, fully and partially enclosed gathering spaces for rent, a water park with water slides, and also a smaller splash zone area. They have a great dog park that lies along the pond that lies at the center of the park where the dogs have their own fenced area to run and play in the water along with a smaller fenced area for small dogs. You can rent kayaks and paddle boats and there are MILES of bike and jogging trails throughout. Call ahead for reservations for zip line and challenge course, and the climbing wall is closed on Mondays until Memorial Day for maintenance. At Christmas this park features a glorious Festival of Lights that attracts people from miles and miles around to see the splendor. Lots of festivals here year round, Reggae Nights is one of my favorites! Must visit if you live near, and worth the stop if you are traveling through or vacationing in Charleston. Fun in the sun!

Haven't explored the whole park, but it's gigantic and the dog park is wonderful. There's so much space for dogs to play and run, and it's just beautiful land. The Christmas Lights are very well done also. I look forward to further exploring what all the park has to offer!

This park is family-oriented all year long. Beautiful park to allow your children to play and per-friendly to walk your dog. During the winter, they offer a spectacular Christmas lights show with roasted marshmallows and a carousel. Always a great time with a new and different adventure everything you cisit.

We had a great time at this park. It was so much fun. There was so much to do. We are from out of town and we were just looking for a dog park to have a good place for the dog to enjoy. There was a lot of room for the dog to run unleashed and we ended up doing some trails and found out they had rock climbing. The rock climbing center was so much fun and the guy working it was very nice and informative. The next time were in the Charleston area we will definitely be back. We wish we had a park like this back home.
