SPACE was started in 2005, with a mission to find a location and raise money for a fenced-in, off-leash dog park. After a lot of work and a tremendous amount of fundraising, we were finally able to raise the $12,300 needed to install the fence at Leslie's Retreat Park.
Leslie's Retreat Dog Park was opened in 2006 in the heart of historic Salem, Massachusetts. The park began as a spacious, fenced off area for all dogs. In the past year, through funds acquired with Pooch Pass purchases as well as multiple, generous donations, we were able to open a second, adjoining park for dogs weighing under 30 pounds.
Leslie's Retreat Dog Park welcomes any dog from any city/town that is registered with a Pooch Pass.
