Riverside Dog Park

555 North Eastern Boulevard

This Fayetteville facility has gone to the dogs - literally! The Riverside Dog Park, located near the Cape Fear Botanical Gardens, opened in Sept. 2008 and was an instant success. A joint effort between the Bark for a Park Committee and Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation Department, Riverside Dog Park is open each day dawn to dusk; dogs outside the enclosed area must be on a leash. A small enclosure is provided for small dogs that weigh less than 25 pounds and another, larger area is set aside for larger dogs. All dogs must be legally licensed and have current vaccinations; tags must be securely attached to the dog's collar. Have fun with your dog at Riverside!

Nice big flat dog park, mostly grass. I was worried by other reviews that it would be very muddy after a rain, but we went early morning after a night of heavy rain and the only puddles in the large dog area were in holes that dogs had dug. (Naturally our dog found one and laid down in it!) It is next to a walking path which is nice and a sewage treatment plant which is a little smelly but to dogs, probably an interesting feature. Did not visit the small dog park but there is one. Our dog gives it 5*.

Brought my 4 month GS puppy here to get him used to other dogs, it was great but there were some overly aggressive dogs there. And my dog is really big for his age so size wasn’t a problem until he was on the bottom of a dog pile lol but I would recommend bringing your own water dish just Incase because some of the dogs liked to pee on/in the water buckets. But overall it’s really great there’s plenty of shade and room for your dogs to run around. I will be bringing my puppy back soon

I LOVE dogs, and on clear sunny weekends this place is full of them. It's got separate areas for small and large dogs, benches for the humans, and it's right along Linear Park which is a nice walking path. The park is also near a sewage plant but I haven't had an issue with the smell. There is a decent porta-john in the parking area for a bathroom.

Nothing fancy, but a great place to let the dog run on a sunny day. They separate large and small dogs. Water is usually available in buckets for the dogs. The double gated entry keeps pets secure inside the fences as friends come and go. People did bring in small kids when it clearly says no one under the age of 12 allowed. My dog is good with kids, but it is frustrating that so many dog owners have to worry about little kids in a place designed for large dogs.

Good place to let the dog run off some energy. When we were there (just after dawn), it was empty other than us.
